ADMISSION PROCEDURE for PGCDS (PG CERTIFICATE IN DRYLAND STUDIES) PROGRAM OFFERED BY BGU, ISRAEL [Fully On-Line Mode of ‘PGCDS Program’ Available Now!]

Announcing admissions for the 2nd Batch to a one-of-a-kind PGCDS (PG Certificate in Dryland Studies) Program conducted by Professors and experts of the Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel (BGU)

The Certificate is offered by BGU, Israel. The On-Campus & Off Campus Certificate Program is being conducted respectively in ABIDAT, Chennai or via fully ‘On-line mode’. For the On-Campus program Students (including In-Service Candidates) are required to be in Chennai for the duration of the 2 (two) semesters Certificate Program. Students opting for the ‘Off Campus’ (fully ‘On-line mode’) can attend classes online from anywhere, however they will be required to participate in the Internship program physically in Tamil Nadu &/or any place the same is scheduled, in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the PGCDS program. Participation in Trials-cum-Exercises during the Summer Break between the 2 Semesters &/or at the end of 2nd Semester will entitle Students to an additional Certificate.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Students who possess degrees in Agriculture & allied disciplines (including Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Agricultural Engineering, Water Technology, etc); besides, those who have graduated with major subjects in Environmental Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology & allied Life Sciences, with a minimum of 50% Aggregate Score. Applicants expecting to complete their graduation by August-September 2024 are eligible. In-Service candidates, and post graduates can add value to their qualification and experience by enhancing career prospects.

Credits earned in the program will be considered as a partial fulfillment for future studies in obtaining a M.Sc. degree in Desert Studies offered by The Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies in the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research (BIDR) at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, with a possibility of grant of Fellowship (Scholarship), as obtained by 100% of our 1st Batch (2022-23).

FEATURES

All students of the PG Certificate Program are enrolled in the BGU Student Register and have a BGU Student ID, BGU Email ID and access to the BGU Library and digital assets (including Softwares). The Fees for the 1 Year’s PG Certificate Program ( 2 semesters) is payable in 2 to 4 instalments. The fees only cover Tuition and Academic costs. Local board and lodge will be extra and to students’ account for those opting to be pursue thru’ On-Campus mode. ABIDAT assists students with identifying lodging in and around Chennai, which is friendly for educational development and growth.

INTERVIEW

An Intimation-Letter for participating in an Interview-cum‘Counselling’ will be issued to the candidates, who will have to virtually appear for an Interview before proceeding to the subsequent stages of selection. This process may take place with the involvement of BGU, Israel.

DOCUMENT VERIFICATION

All original documents relevant with reference to identity, qualifications, etc will be required from the applicants to be physically presented during the Admission process. One set of the self-attested photocopies of all these documents will have to be submitted at the Registrar’s Office. Any candidate found ineligible during the process of Admission or thereafter will be debarred forthwith and his/her enrolment cancelled with no refunds of any payments whatsoever. Legal proceedings will be initiated, if any candidate is found involved in unlawful activities.

ADMISSION & ENROLMENT

Once the applicant has fulfilled all the prerequisites, the final selection, enrolment, etc will take place, in compliance with the norms of BGU, Israel. The Professional Fees (Admission-cum-Tuition and Academic Fees) for the 1 Year PG Certificate Program (2 semesters) is payable in 2 to 4 instalments. The enrolled ABIDAT student will be identified as a non-degree Scholar by BGU, Israel.
